Astrocrew, SPC3 and a lot of time

Once again, I find myself watching Stellarium render the frames for the upcoming AstroCrew video and I thought to myself, that I could document this amazing process. So while the engine is rendering at the blistering speed of $10/3$ fps (for most of the scenes, more on that later), let me describe all the stuff I am doing, to make these amazing videos exist. Is Godot *the* tool for overlays?

So, I’ve been broadcasting for the past four years. Not regularily, but often. One thing, that I struggled with from the beginning was the overlays. At first, I was using Java with javax.Swing and luma-keying the black background out in OBS. This worked but was kinda unstable and not really smooth. Swing is not made for realtime graphics, especially not at the Full-HD scale and it was lagging a lot.
